Annayum Rasoolum (Anna and Rasool)
A beautiful
beautiful movie about a not-so-novel-appearing love story of two common people
from two different communities striving to meet their ends in a big city. The
plot may appear very clichéd initially but takes a different turn as the story
unfolds.
The lifestyle,
the colloquial language, the mundane events of common people, the ferry ride, and
the narrow by-lanes of Kochi are very well captured. I loved the slow narration
of the movie; -the way the frames are shot, - lovely compositions & the
lighting bringing out the everydayness that we easily connect to. There are so
many memorable frames!. The background music is appropriate... just enough to
subtly blend with the scenes & it is avoided where it is not necessary.
That being one of the best parts!
I think it’s one
of the best Malayalam movies of 2013 that i have watched yet. It scores in
every department of film production. It's highly recommended, more so, if you
love romantic & realistic movies. For Non-Malayalee who loves such genre,
it's worth a try. I am sure you will enjoy as much as i did.
Ah! By the way,
it is the debut movie for director Rajiv Ravi, who has collaborated with Anurag Kashyap as a cinematographer for
his movies like Dev D, GOW1,2..et al.
You certainly will see his influence in
the movie!.
Happy Watching!!
